Had surgery a few years ago to unblock tubes, afterwards bowel ducts were stuck , had to have corrective surgery, was the surgery botched?

Probably not: I am not exactly sure what you are asking. I am assuming you are talking about bile ducts which connect the liver to the intestines. Surgery to correct a blockages can lead to further blockages. There is no way for me to tell without further information. I would discuss this with your surgeon. I am sorry you have had complications. I hope everything is turning out ok. ...Read more

I had a robot assisted sacrocolpopexy on Nov.11 2014 so Tuesday I will be 2 weeks post op. No spotting til today I fell on Friday should I worry?

Probably not serious: As long as you are able to empty your bladder, pass gas, have bowel movements, and you don't have any fever, chills, nausea, or vomiting, it is highly unlikely that anything serious is occurring. It is not rare to have some vaginal spotting or light bleeding after a sacrocolpopexy. If you have any burning or urgency with urination, may want to have your doc check for a bladder infection. ...Read more

I had an ACL reconstruction surgery 3 months ago and accidentally took levoflaxacin. Is that bad?

I had an ACL reconstruction surgery 3 months ago and accidentally took levoflaxacin. Is that bad?

No: Even though there is a risk of tendon rupture associated with levofloxacin, it's mechanism is a loss of blood supply. The acl graft matures by drawing from the surrounding fluid within the joint, and should not have a higher risk. There is currently no evidence to suggest acl tear association with Levofloxacin use. It is most commonly associated with achilles ruptures. ...Read more

I had carotid surgery two years ago. Today I had a dentist apt. and the doctor had difficulty numbing the sight which was the side I had the surgery.

Not related.: As far as I know, there is no relationship between carotid surgery and the ability to numb the tissue in the mouth. Another doc may be aware of some connection between the two, and will hopefully answer if there is one. ...Read more

I had carpal tunnel release surgery yesterday and I felt everything during my operation. Is this normal?

I had carpal tunnel release surgery yesterday and I felt everything during my operation. Is this normal?

Not usually: There are several different kinks of anesthesia's for this operation. Did you have just a local anesesthetic, bier block or general anesthesia? I am not sure how your doctor could have done the surgery if you felt everything. Possibly the block did not have time to fully set up. Does the dentist have a hard time numbing you up for drilling teeth? ...Read more
