Likely, no: CA 125 is not recommended as a screening tool for ovarian cancer when used in risk-based stratification. Meaning, assuming that your mom or sister didn't get diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Normal for women with endometriosis to have elevated CA-125. If a cyst is going to cause symptoms, it will usually be pain, not necessarily with the period. May also occur with intercourse. What did your MD say: After the surgery, your gyn should have discussed fertility issues. Chances of conception are highest in the first six months after endometriosis surgery. If you had fibroids removed, you may need to wait before trying to get pregnant. ...Read more
