I have supra ventricular tachycardia can I do high intensity training?

You canpi if If not: treated probably you can not do high intensity training. See a cardiologist . I hope this helps. If you want to discuss my answer to your question or if you have more questions contact me on my Virtual Practice at www.healthtap.com/dryetimyan ...Read more

Is it true that nonsustained supra ventricular tachycardia is the same as nonsustained ventricular tachycardia?

Is it true that nonsustained supra ventricular tachycardia is the same as nonsustained ventricular tachycardia?

No: Supraventricular tachycardia signifies that the abnormal rhythm arises from a part of the heart above the atrioventricular node (that normally conducts atrial electrical impulses to the ventricles for ventricular excitation), whereas a ventricular tachycardia originates from the ventricular myocardium itself (below the level of the atrioventricular node). ...Read more

Is it safe for anyone to get botox? I have supra ventricular tachycardia and I take a beta blocker. I was wondering if its okay?

Is it safe for anyone to get botox? I have supra ventricular tachycardia and I take a beta blocker. I was wondering if its okay?

Depends on why botox: It would depend on why you would be taking botox injections. For most indications, I do not see a risk or problem. Best is to discuss your entire health history with the provider doing the injections to make a determination if there is anything in your history that would contraindicate botox injection. Drinking alcohol safe with supra-ventricular tachycardia?

Alcohol and SVT: Alcohol is known to damage the conduction system of the heart and cause all kinds of arrythmia. Svt is caused by an anomaly of that system. Alcohol surely unavoidably aggravates that anomaly, besides turning the heart muscle into a mass of jello that has no strength to pump blood properly (reduced ejection fraction). No alcohol abuse. Period ! ...Read more

What's the difference between supraventricular thachycardia and ventricular tachycardia?

What's the difference between supraventricular thachycardia and ventricular tachycardia?

Everything: Svt arises in the atria (the upper chambers) and VT arises in the ventricles (lower chambers). Svt often occurs in otherwise healthy hearts and is annoying but only rarely serious. Vt usually arises in diseased hearts, can be serious, and sometimes is life-threatening. Vt in the setting of a heart attack or acute coronary syndrome is very dangerous. ...Read more

Are odd Supraventricular beats on24Hr Holter the same as (or connected to ?)Nonsustained Ventricular Tachycardia <30sec ?

Are odd Supraventricular beats on24Hr Holter the same as (or connected to ?)Nonsustained Ventricular Tachycardia <30sec ?

No: Supraventricular is NOT ventricular. There is a significant difference clinically, treatment wise and prognostically for extra beats from the atrium vs. extra from the ventricle. ...Read more

14 day loop results states tachycardia up to 140, bradycardia 42 bpm, ventricular ectopic complexes, supra ventricular ectopic complexes and an atrial couplet. Should I be worried?

14 day loop results states tachycardia up to 140, bradycardia 42 bpm, ventricular ectopic complexes, supra ventricular ectopic complexes and an atrial couplet. Should I be worried?

Arrhythmias: You should be talking to your doctor about the situation to get more information. The rhythms alone don't necessarily imply something 'bad'. On the other hand if you were entirely normal they wouldn't be there. The rest of your condition is what tells you whether you should be worried. Your doctor is best positioned to answer that question. ...Read more

Diagnosed on holter test wit Svt,very frequent supra ventricular ectopic ,regular narrow complex tachycardia and periods of irregularities what mean?

Depends on symptoms : More details on your Svt needed - not sure how healthcare in England works - but u should see a specialist - cardiologist - to spend time with you - explain if benign or consequential. Examine u. Consider an ultrasound of your heart = echocardiogram. Good luck! ...Read more

How to control ventricular tachycardia?

How to control ventricular tachycardia?

Ventricular tachy: There are lots of options-medications or ablation. If are asking as a patient, I would sit down with an electrophysiologist and discuss. The treatment has to be individualized. If you are asking for education, there are lots of online free materials available. ...Read more

What are some signs of ventricular tachycardia?

What are some signs of ventricular tachycardia?

No specific signs: You can not determine if an abnormal heart rhythm is due to VT by how it feels. Vt is, by definition, a fast heart beat so people may feel pounding in their chest. Depending on the rate, they may become dizzy, short of breath, have chest pain, get sweaty and/or pass out. None of these symptoms are specific for vt. The rhythm must be recorded on ekg or on a monitor for definitive diagnosis. ...Read more

What exactly is "persistent ventricular tachycardia"?

What exactly is "persistent ventricular tachycardia"?

Life threatening: Ventricular tachcardia is a life threatening arrythmia. Its the rythm that needs to be "shocked". The pts in persistent v-tach is when shocking or medicine doesnt restore normal sinus rythm. The pt usually expire. ...Read more

What causes pulseless ventricular tachycardia?

What causes pulseless ventricular tachycardia?

Not really pulseless: When VT occurs at a fast enough rate, there is inadequate time for ventricular filling, cardiac output falls, and blood pressure falls. You may not be able to palpate a pulse but an arterial line would show a waveform that is reduced in amplitude. Rate is the key. As tissue perfusion fails, acidosis, hypoxemia and hyperkalemia result leading to ventricular fibrillation and death. ...Read more

Can you defibrillate any patient in ventricular tachycardia?

Dr. Jesus Yap Dr. Yap
1 doctor agreed:
Can you defibrillate any patient in ventricular tachycardia?

Yes : Yes but only when the tachycardia is fast and not tolerated . But the electric current has to be synchronized with the heart beat. This is most appropriately called cardioversion than defibrillation the latter being unsynchronized electric shock for ventricular fibrillation which is a chaotic ineffective rhythm. ...Read more

Do doctors see a lot of patients with ventricular tachycardia?

No: If you are a cardiologist that specializes in the electrical aspects of the heart's function (an electrophysiologist) you probably do see your fair share. For the rest of doctors ventricular tachycardia is fortunately not common enough to see that often. ...Read more
