I notice an accessory nipple in my 7 day baby boy. Need help to understand what could be the possible reason and will it create any issue in future?
The answer is yes: But it must be performed under local anesthesia. It is dangerous to the developing fetus to undergo either general anesthesia or conscious sedation. Preferably, if you could wait until after the pregnancy, the surgery to remove the accessory nipple would be more comfortable, given that conscious sedation could be safely employed. ...Read more

If menopausal then fluctuating hormone syndrome (climacteric syndrome) can cause sore nipples. Lastly, sore nipples can be a warning sign for breast cancer. Nipple/ areola: During pregnancy the areola become darker w thicker tissues & increases in size. The Montgomery glands on the areola become larger. For some women, the areola returns to their pre-pregnancy size – but not for all.
