However if there is no underlying vein reflux problem that needs to be addressed, as without that the ulceration will either take a long time to heal, or may not heal. Use of compression stockings is also very beneficial in trying to heal the ulceration. Unna boot placement has also had benefit in management.

Depends on etiology: Of ulcers. If they are caused by lack of arterial circulations, you need to correct the blockage. If they are caused by lack of venous circulation, you need to improve venous drainage. If they are caused by small vessel disease as in diabetes, there is no direct way to control the ulcers. Usually they are caused by a combination of factors, and you need to address all 3. Show to surgeon.
