This depends a bit on how old the dermatitis is. The earlier it is treated the sooner it reduces inflammation and then itching. But most reduces inflammation. 2 hours ago? Don't expect miracles. I also give low potentcy steroid cream on face. ...Read more

Possible recurring seborrheic dermatitis on face? Red, flaky & bumps. Have treated with ketoconazole and steroids - even honey. Flared worse. Advice?
Itraconazole is an antifungal drug and will not treat seborrehic dermatitis, if that is what you have. It would be prudent to see a doctor, especially a dermatologist.

Ve been using desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) diaper rash cream on my face for my acne. Will the zinc help my skin?
Zinc: Zinc helps repair damaged tissue and heal wounds. There are some articles out there that suggest a zinc deficiency may contribute to acne issues. This of course is referring to dietary zinc deficiency. Zinc oxide topically is often used in sunscreens for its protective effect from the sun's harmful rays. I can't speak specifically about the use of Desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) for acne - but if it helps you then use it. ...Read more

Atopic dermatitis: This is more likely to be atopic dermatitis. He needs a good, thick emollient at least two times a day to the area--try truelipids ointment or cream. It is the safest, most non-toxic option out there. Go see a dermatologist who has a lot of experience with this disease. Better Rx?: This isn't really the most targeted therapy for seborrheic dermatitis. You have a lot of choices. I had paint in my face and I washed it off with a product containing methylparaben...can this affect my seborrheic dermatitis or beard growth?
You're fine: This is a very common product, produced in nature, used by insects to signal each other and so-forth, and is famously non-toxic so far as anybody's been able to show. Of course, since it's in cosmetics, there are folks making stuff up about it being dangerous. You should stop reading internet "scare" stuff. If I have a shower I have no problems. If I have a bath, after 10 min, my head itches very strong. Why? Is it a symptom of dermatitis seborroic?
?: I can't think of a mechanism for this since showering would involve your scalp but bathing likely not. There is a condition known as cholinergic urticaria in which intensely itchy red bumps would develop after a rise in core body temperature, but this does not fit your picture. It is also not suggestive of seborrhea. Suggest you see a dermatologist. ...Read more

Try testing first: I would recommend testing the cream in a small discrete area first. We call it patch testing. Leave it on for 48 hrs - reapply after shower, and then wait another few days to make sure you do not have a delayed response. If no redness or itching it should be safe to use. ...Read more
