Yes: Intraabdominal weight gain is a precursor for the muscle between the esophagus and stomach to malfunction. Medications can also cause similar symptoms, especially high blood pressure Meds. Eat smaller amounts, drink water with your meals, do not lay down or sit or recline after meals, and elevate the back of your bed 1/2-1 inch. It all helps. Good luck, see the doc if not improving.
