My fiance hurt his wrist at work looks like a vein xploded swollen large dark blue spot on wrist should we be concerned about the bleeding under skin?
Treat symptomaticly: Injuries to the soft tissues of the body below the skin cause swelling and can also cause the veins in the skin below the injury to bleed. This is what causes the area to become black and blue. Over about a week the body reabsorbs the blood, the swelling subsides and the area heals. The initial treatment is ice to the injured area, elevation and compression usually with an ace wrap. ...Read more
I hit my wrist earlier, and it seems the vein has swollen. The area around it is red, and my palm is tingling. Should I be concerned?
Not to worry:
You have a "contusion" or "bruising" and hit the nerve as well as the veins in your wrist. ICE is the best INITIAL treatment followed by HEAT after the first 48 hours!
Your symptoms should resolve within 7 days If still symptomatic after a week check it out with your PCP (Primary Care Provider)
Hope this helps!

Arterial puncture?: It sounds like the blood was drawn by mistake from an artery instead of a vein. It happens sometimes, especially in persons with hard-to-find veins. Quite a bit of blood can leak from an artery; you can expect bruising in the next 1-2 days. Usually not serious unless pale, cold finger (s) or lots of pain. But tell your doctor, who probably will inform the blood draw personnel; they'll want to know. ...Read more
