See a dermatologist: There are several things that can cause what you describe. Having a dermatologist examine you would deb your best first step. Should consult doc: It is is possible that you only sustained a significant contusion/sprain to your hand from the fall, but injury to/at the base of the thumb is a bit concerning for a scaphoid bone fracture. Fracture of other bones in the hand is not as concerning because of the unique blood-supply here : fracture across this bone severs the blood supply.
