Exercise: Like yoga and pilates. Ice or heat. Stretches. Don't carry your backpack on one shoulder but evenly in both shoulders. Try to avoid looking down a lot. Watch slumping and try to walk and sit with good posture!

Muscle strain?: What kinds of activities have you been engaging in? Did you by chance travel and carry things on the right side more than you typically do? Do you play a sport? Did you sleep very soundly without moving? All these things and more can cause a spasm of the muscles, usually on the side of your dominant hand. If you had a fall, you should have a doctor take a look to make sure you don't have fracture.

Need to see you doc!: If your pain is this intense then go see a physician. Did your neck and shoulder pain start gradually, suddenly or was there a precipitating cause? There could be something going on your cervical spine. But it is still best to have your self evaluated by a physician.

See your doctor: This is one of those problems where a visit to your doctor is necessary to figure out what's going on. Only after a thorough evaluation, including examination and possibly labs and other tests, can your doctor correctly diagnose you and treat you effectively.

Yes,: Yes, elevated monocytes can be elevated in some types of vasculitis. Monocytes can also be elevated in chronic infections. I am glad that you have had a negative bone marrow study. High sedimentation rate can go along with inflammatory or infectious causes. It sounds like your hematologist is performing a thorough workup.

Referred pain: I suspect referred pain from the neck but other causes could be involved like esophageal involvement, or referred from gall bladder. Your physician can clarify this and have you get the appropriate evaluation

MALPOSITION: Sometimes when you are busy and tired you can go to sleep at any position you are in like malpositioning in bed and suddenly you wake up due to pressure on your neck and shoulder. Muscle relaxant and other analgesics can be taken to relieve pain. Follow up with md.

See your doctor: If you are having pain and you are already on significant pain medication then it is important to have any new pain checked out. Imagine how bad the new pain would be without being on pain medication and that would assuredly bring you to the doctor.

Cervical facets: Cervical facets could cause this type of pain pattern. Also improper biomechanics and myofascial pain can cause this.

See sports med: You need to see a sports med doctor...He/she will assess you and see what is going on...You may have neck/shoulder issues from the injury of the concussion on top of the post concussion syndrome. You want to be careful what you are doing in physiotherapy because of the concussion. Your local sports med doc can help you.

Be seen: If among your symptoms, you are having severe abdominal pain, I would certainly be seen. There are a multitude of potential causes, much of which are quite benign; but there could also be something that is more urgent. An exam and appropriate tests will likely determine the cause.

See a neurologist: You must see a neurologist. You have definite signs of either diseased or pinched nerves in neck or brachial plexus on right side.

Depends on duration: The answer depends largely on the duration of your various symptoms. If your symptom cluster persists over time and does not go away after 7-10 days, or runs in frequent cycles of 4-10 days, then you need to see a rheumatologist.

Needs to be checked: You have had this for 5 days and it is not improving with Naproxen and ice locally it needs to be checked by your doctor or an orthopedic specialist and may need imaging like MRI to make a diagnosis andv appropriate treatment.

Neuralgia: It sounds like he has a problem in his neck with pressure on the nerve roots coming out in the neck area he needs to see if physician and get a definitive diagnosis

Sounds reasonable: You would certainly want to discuss the specifics of your case with your surgeon, but if you have a cyst pressing on your spinal cord to the extent it is causing weakness in your extremities, surgery is certainly a consideration.

Occipital neuralgia: Involves the greater and lesser occipital nerves located in the back of the scalp and can produce neck pain as well as headache. The most common symptom is suboccipital pain radiating to the back of the head and occasionally down the back of the neck. This is treatable condition. Rec. See orofacial pain or pain management specialist. You can take Advil (ibuprofen) pm as needed.
