Shoulder pain: 29 year old gentleman with sudden pain under the shoulder blade and audible tear. You need a full exam from an orthopaedic surgeon. If you mean the pain was underneath your scapula, the muscle underneath it is called the subscapularis. Tears involving this muscle or its tendon are detected using the lift off test. They can.: Muscle injury syndromes secondary to lipid lowering medications can occur at any time during therapy although 2/3 of the cases occur in the first 6 months.
