Small pea sized lump on side of neck. Somewhat movable can move from side to side. Terrified it's cancer! In the spot where lymphnodes are.
Need to examine: Do you have lesions in your scalp, or face? Even bad dandruff or pimples on the face may lead to enlargement of local lymph nodes. If you have no lesions on the scalp and/or face, you can wait to see what happens. It is not likely that you have cancer, but if the node persists for more than two weeks, it would be prudent to consult your doctor. ...Read more
I have a huge lump on side of neck, ear, and side of face. Can't eat normally! Hurts constant ; what is wrong with me! Should I go ER?
At least seek urgent: Help. You may not need to go to the ER, particularly if you can seek your primary care provider urgently, otherwise, you are right, the ER may be necessary. It could be possible that a doctor tell the difference between a cyst and a cancer lump on side of neck by feeling it?
Have small lump on side of neck. My total protein is 8.7 and albumin is 5.2. My CRP is. 95. Ldh is normal. Should I be concerned about lyphomia.
Unlikely: Lymphoma would cause an inflammatory response in your immune system, and your CRP would be elevated. Ldh, protein, and Albumin tell me your nutritional status is stable. If your lump gets larger, go see your doctor. It may be a lymph node and the only real way to r/o bad things is with a biopsy, but at this point, I would watch and wait. ...Read more

Painless lump on side of neck with no other obvious infection (cold, flu, ear). Doc says it's nothing and won't run any tests. Advice?
Lymphadenopathy: This may be an enlarged lymph node, and the characteristics appreciated by your doctor have convinced them that it is nothing of concern. The major test they could run would be to biopsy and this is both risky and expensive. If you don't trust their opinion suggest you see another provider. Good luck. ...Read more
