Must I have marrow biopsy if neutropenia and lump in neck?

Must I have marrow biopsy if neutropenia and lump in neck?

Yes: A bone marrow biopsy is needed due to the presence of neutropenia if it is otherwise unexplained. I had FBC done after finding a lump in neck. results came back "satisfactory" and nothing else was said. Still waiting on ultrasound. is that good?

I had FBC done after finding a lump in neck. results came back "satisfactory" and nothing else was said. Still waiting on ultrasound. is that good?

Yes it is!: There are many different causes for a neck lump. Taking an accurate history and performing a thorughly examination often brings forth the diagnosis. The FBC was probably performed to exclude a tumour of the blood such a lymphoma, and to see the result as 'satisfactory' is reassuring. The USS will help further with this diagnosis and don't be surprised if they say they want to a biopsy. ...Read more

Could i still have thyroid issues with normal bloodwork lump in neck thinks its thyroid? Had three miscarriages too no answers

Not sure...: Thyroid levels can fluctate, so even if it was normal once, it can be abnormal later. Check with your endocrinologist. If you feel a lump in your neck, get it looked at. The endocrinologist can also likely take care of the evaluation for that, but you might need an ENT to look further into it. ...Read more
