Why does anxiety out of nowhere cause sudden brief dizziness, head rush and slightly faint feeling?
Panic: Fear or panic leads to release of adrenaline which causes fight-flight response, leading to rapid heart rate, rapid breathing & sweating. Rapid breathing causes drop in carbon dioxide in lungs then blood, which leads to shifts in blood ph (hydrogen ion concentration) leading to dizziness. Another cause is adrenaline leading to narrowing of blood vessels to brain, hence less blood flow to head. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Sudden brief dizziness, stiff neck and tiredness lasting 24 hours. Do experience PA's and GAD. Could these sympts be related to those? More serious?
Consider a MRI brain: While the symptoms that you note could be related to stress, anxiety or panic attacks it is best that you are followed regularly by your medical doctor and a psychiatrist given your history of HTN and mitral valve prolapse. Also a cervical and brain MRI may be in order to evaluate for a pinched nerve or other diagnosis causing the dizziness. Read more

Not certain: It is difficult to explain your symptoms without further evaluation. This could be cardiac, arrhythmia or neurological in origin. I favor arrhythmia from your description. With the dry eyes as well, it sounds like you may be dehydrated. You are in a heat wave. Make sure you keep your fluids up. If it worsens, go to the er for IV replenishment. Read more
