Talk to your doctor : The screening test needs to include buprenorphine and nor buprenorphine (metabolite of Suboxone). This drug is metabolized by the liver CYP3A4 . Other drugs that induce this enzyme can speed up the metabolism of Suboxone and significantly lower it's level in the blood. Some patients experience opiate withdrawal because of this. Antiseizure meds and antiviral meds are usual culprits. ...Read more

Codeine is an opiate: and therefore is tested for in many drug screens. Suboxone is a combination of buprenorphine, an opiod medication, and naloxone an opiod/narcotic reverser. Buprenorphine is metabolized differently from methadone, heroin, etc. and if you are ONLY taking suboxone, the opiate test should be negative. So I can't explain your results.
