You should be seen: Especially if you happen to be of Asian extraction. Most glands are fighting infection and are a bit painful. A gland that is very hard and not painful could be a sign of cancer. If not very hard and not painful, it is hard to say. Someone else needs to feel it to decide. It may not be a gland at all but a kind of cyst. Don't mess with it until you are seen and evaluated. Without seeing this one must guess. But, the most worriesome situation would be a deep vein blood clot. This can be fatal and need to be urgently seen and treated.
Slightly less worriesome but no less painful is phlebitis or an infection of the lower leg blood vessels leading to painful swelling.
