My active sister broke her hip 2mo ago. She had hip replacement, infection, replacement of artif hip with spacer, then removal of spacer. What next?
Try to do again: Minimum of six weeks of IV antibiotic therapy. Once off antibiotics, blood tests to look for signs of infection returning. If incision and bloodwork good then attempt to put another hip repalcement back in.
