Synthetic: "polyamino acids" are synthetic, and i don't know of any natural foods that contain them. Drug companies use them in research and drug delivery, etc. Of course proteins (that you can eat) are made up of Amino Acids (many of them!) -- so in a sense that would be like a polyamino acid.
