Subchorionic Hematoma Miscarriage
Pregnancy Bleeding: A subchorionic hemorrhage/hematoma is a bleed between the pregnancy and the uterine wall. It is an US finding, that if coupled with vaginal bleeding, can potentially increase the risk of miscarriage/preterm delivery, but w/out vaginal bleeding, it's hard to say. Size matters; worse if bigger (covering ~50% of placental bed) or occurring later. It can heal itself, but you just have to wait/watch. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
7 weeks pregnant twins no fetal pole. I have a bicornuate uterus & possible subchorionic hemmorage. Bleeding & cramping when active. Am i miscarrying?
Depends: The hematoma may give the sac an unusual shape. Usually it does not . If there is a n unusual shape a follow up ultrasound and evaluation should be done within a week or right away if there is painful bleeding , or heavy bleeding. Nature will decide how successful the pregnanacy can turn out .There is nothing you can do to change the eventual outcome for the embryo. ...Read more
Subchorionic hemorrhage, placental abruption, oligohydramnios (20w3d). What does this all mean? Is it serious?
Placenta: This means there is a collection of blood between the placenta and the uterine wall- therefore the abruption, the term oligohydramnios basically means low amniotic fluid and can have multiple causes including placenta dysfunction on the side of the mother, of problems with the fetus- problems with the kidneys. 6w 4d pregnant with fetal pole, yolk sac ...heartbeat detectd...but seems gestational sac is irregular...sign of miscarriage?
Don't worry: The most important thing is that the fetus has a heartbeat. Did they tell you an actual fetal heart rate? Sometimes the gestational sac looks different. There could be a nearby fibroid or subchorionic hemorrhage. Signs of a miscarriage are uterine cramping and bleeding. If you are not having those symptoms I would not worry about this. The sonogram can be repeated in 1-2 weeks. ...Read more

SCH: SCH (subchorionic hematomas) are very common findings in early pregnancy. The often cause bleeding. Although the rate of miscarriage is higher in most cases things turn out fine. Early pregnancy: The timing is right for a 5 week pregnancy but the HCG is much lower than may be normal. If you are not having any spotting, pain or bleeding, then repeating the ultrasound in 1 - 2 weeks will let you know definitively what is going on. Still, if any of the other symptoms occur, you should see your doctor. ...Read more

Cervical Stenosis?: The doc on the scene would know more; however, based on what you have written, it sounds like you may have cervical stenosis. The basic idea is that the cervix won't open so menstrual blood can't get out and collects in the uterus. This is painful. Its usually treated with a D&C by dilating the cervix and cleaning out the clot. Best wishes! ...Read more
