Possible recurrence: Colonoscopy requires cleaning of bowel with a form of laxative followed by distention of bowel by forcing gas up the rectum. Probably not: If you had rectal exam and colonoscopy that did not show a tumor mass then it is unlikely this lymph node is malignant. You mentioned sigmoiditis. My best guess is that this lymph node is reactive due to the inflammation in your sigmoid. ...Read more

Unlikely: Cancer of the rectum can spread into cervix but only by local extension which is not the case here. I suspect the polyp in the cervix is unrelated to the rectal ca which is quite early in this case. But it should be removed and examined just to make sure that it is benign. ...Read more
