Will soccer players ever wear helmets?

Will soccer players ever wear helmets?

Concussions Tragic: As a player& doctor i think the legacy of soccer concussions are potentially destructive over a lifetime for players just as we have seen in the nfl. Girls playing through college may be at higher risk. Current gear does not have strong proof of protection. Let's worry more about the players' brains & lives then if we can properly see them on the pitch. Better soft head wear may be out there yet. ...Read more

Is a fitness training routine combining rowing, treadmill cycling good?

Is a fitness training routine combining rowing, treadmill cycling good?

Yes: You are nicely combining three different forms of aerobic conditioning exercises. Rowing and cycling activities are heart friendly as well as joint friendly; good exercise for the cardiovascular system without beating up your joints. Of the three, the treadmill has more impact on your knees and ankles as you run. Would advise keep in the treadmill flat as opposed to inclined. Easier on the knees. ...Read more

For 'runners knee' which running shoe would u recommend - Asics Gel Enhance Ultra 3 Running Shoe or Brooks Womens Adrenaline GTS 15 Running Shoe?

Not just Shoes...: Either shoe will do, but shoes are not the end all treatment for runners knee. There are many more things to consider before fixating on the shoe type. More important is whether you had, presently have or are in a preventive mode for the treatment of the problem. I suggest you seek out a sports medicine ortho specialist to do a proper evaluation and subsequent treatment and exercise protocol. ...Read more

Are new sketcher's training shoes just as dangerous as wearing high heels or platforms?

No: Running with scissors is dangerous. Running in skechers is not. High heels and platforms are only "dangerous" in pregnancy if you fall or twist your ankle. Most people are not comfortable in them later in pregnancy, but they can't cause any real harm to moms or babies. If you are comfortable in them, go ahead and wear whatever you like. Comfort and fit are the most important features. ...Read more

My oxygen dependent 5y.O with trach weighs 36lbs. A small m6 tank in backpack weighs 4lbs. Is it ok for him to carry on own to play 30+ min outside?

Boy with O2: Without knowing all the facts, but assuming your boy can carry the 4 pound m6 tank in a backpack inside the house with a problem, then it would seem to be a very good idea to let him play outdoors in a safe place. He should however always be supervised to keep him out of trouble. ...Read more
