Well known: It is well known that some kids with autism do well ironically when physically sick with temporary improvement in social and interpersonal relations, facial expressions and decrease in stereotype behavior. Simple is best: Sometimes the simplest answer is the best, particularly when dealing with the curious or worried. Letting her know that some kids don't understand things as easily & act different is better than a full discussion.
