So like I was saying before what if the stress fracture in foot doesn't heal in a year what happens next i still have pain in that area?
Options: For a stress fracture that has not healed with normal conservative treatment (i.e. Immobilization in a cast and/or boot), your treatment options include an external bone stimulator and surgery. Updated imaging studies would be reasonable to confirm the diagnosis. Discuss these options with your doctor. ...Read more
Stress affects most people in some way. Acute (sudden, short-term) stress leads to rapid changes throughout the body. Almost all body systems (the heart and blood vessels, immune system, lungs, digestive system, sensory organs, and brain) gear up to meet perceived danger. These stress responses could prove beneficial in a critical, life-or-death situation. Over time, however, repeated stressful situations put a strain on the body that may contribute to physical and psychological problems. Chronic (long-term) stress can have real health consequences and should be addressed like any other health concern. Fortunately, research is showing that lifestyle changes and stress-reduction techniques can help people learn ...Read more

Had stress fracture in foot. Wore boot 1 mo. 4 mo. Later foot still swollen tho doc said bone healed. No pain just noticeable swelling not improving.?
Stress Fractures: Can cause long term swelling. Repetitive trauma to an area that underwent a stress fracture will continue to have stress-induced swelling. If you are not wearing an orthotic in your shoe that helps to displace pressure and impact trauma away from the fracture site, then you will continue to have stress-type symptoms in that area, including post-injury swelling. ...Read more

Will a navicular stress fracture still heal if i 'walk' in my cam walker without flexing my ankle? It is so hard to deal with two kids on crutches.
Navicular fracture: It will heal because the cam walker has a rocker bottom sole wich helps keep the foot from completing a complete gait cycle. With that said it will heal faster if you immobilize it completely. Any fracture takes anywhere from 4-8 weeks to heal with proper immobility. ...Read more
Is 12 weeks on crutches long enough for a heel stress fracture to heal? It still hurts to walk on it. The MRI showed a stress fracture in heel along with bone edema. Help.
Yes: 6-8 wks is all that is typically required for a stree fracture to heal. Most likely the bone is healed but the plantar fascia has tightened up due to non weightbearing and is now becoming inflamed. However, if the bone has not healed you may have osteopenia, calcium or vitamin d deficiency. You should see your podiatrist. ...Read more
Stay off it: You need to stay off of it using a cast or walking boot to protect it. Also, you should be under a doctors care to make sure it is healing, has not shifted or moved and is in proper alignment to heal. If it is out of alignment you may need surgery as you don't want it to heal in the wrong position. ...Read more

My foot hurts when I walk hurts when flex my foot up I had a stress fracture in foot about 9 months ago what else could it b?
Have a foot exam...: Your stress fracture 9 months ago may have been more than just the bone injury. There are several soft tissue structures that overlay the top of the foot. There are tendons and ligaments which may have been damaged. Have the foot checked properly. See a podiatrist for a full foot exam. You had a bone scan and ct scan, but an MRI is a better diagnostic test to evaluate the soft tissue. ...Read more
