Rested wrist stress fracture for 3 weeks but have pain after resuming sports. but pain shifted to the other side of my wrist. help?
Stress affects most people in some way. Acute (sudden, short-term) stress leads to rapid changes throughout the body. Chronic (long-term) stress can have real health consequences and should be addressed like any other health concern. Piece of tissue over tendon in ankle is missing dr. wants to do surgery after desensitization it's been 6 months since sprain pain and swelling worse?
Generally not: In most cases, a simple closed fracture without significant movement (displacement) should heal well in an otherwise healthy 19 year old, assuming you let it heal and didn't re-injure. 6 weeks is usually about right. If it is delayed, there is incomplete healing (non-union), or there are other things involved like significant soft tissue injury, you should return to your doctor to follow-up. ...Read more

L1-l2 transverse process fracture in July. pain went away no brace or PT was directed. In past three weeks extreme pain, how common is re injury. ?
Uncommon: that type of injury usually results from a significant trauma. There was probably some soft tissue/ muscle/ ligament injury as well. There could be some lingering damage to those tissues such as scar tissue to account for the pain. Should resolve over time. ...Read more
Spontaneous pain in hand 2 months after wrist sprain, but the sprain is healing. How come I have random pain all of a sudden?

10 weeks after met. ORIF, still some pain on walking and still swelling. Told to walk normally, physio exercises, but swelling esp. a problem. Normal?
Possibly : Most metatarsal fractures take about 8 weeks to heal, and after that may still have some degree of recovery for another 6-8 weeks or so. So if you are slowly getting better it seems reasonable to wait it out. If you aren't getting better or certainly if you are getting worse, let your surgeon know. Also avoid nicotine and NSAIDs, both of which slow fracture healing. ...Read more

It seems that many believe that a "fracture" is a lesser injury or an incomplete break in the bone, but this is not correct. Fractures may be displaced or ...Read more
