Strep Throat White Bumps
My husband thinks he has strep throat because of the white bumps on his throat which he scrapped off. Does that he doesn't have strep anymore?
I have these little white bumps around the red of my tonsils. What is that? I just got over strep throat a month ago and my tonsils are now going down
I've had strep throat throughout my life. Right now there are red bumps in the back of my throat but they are not white. Had it for 3 days so far.
Chronic tonsillitis: may be associated with seasonal allergies, chronic sinusitis and possible even tonsil "stones". It is not fun to be sick all the time and be on antibiotics half a year, So, Although it is a painful, "bloody" surgery as an Adult I would consider having an ENT take a look to see if you are a candidate for elective removal of tonsils and adenoids. ...Read more
Based on my previous question about possibly having strep throat.. I have a sore throat red swollen with white bumps them in back of throat. Mono?
Possible, But...: From your description, it sounds more like strep throat, or tonsillitis. Mono, is possible, but at this point, but with information given, it's a stretch. You would have swollen lymph nodes of the neck, general lethargy, and not be localized to the throat area alone. Either way, you might want a culture taken to be sure, and i would see you pcp for that to be done. Best of luck to you! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have strep throat -like symptoms. Last month I had a huge white bump in my throat with sore throat and no fever. My doctor didn't strep test me but sent me home with penicillin VK. Two weeks ago it came back, so I went to urgent care and had a positive
Recurrent strep: infection occurs about 10% of the time, in spite of taking the antibiotic, and more often if one stops the medication after feeling better instead of completing the course. In the lab, strep is very sensitive to penicillin, but not all people absorb it well or may have other bacteria in their throat that make it less effective. Get another culture and other med. Possible other germ like mono. ...Read more
My son just recently had strep throat and now he has these large bumps on his tongue. Can u tell me what us that?
Possibly normal: If they are on the back of his tongue and they do not hurt, then this is normal. We all have several very large taste buds (called vallate papilla) on the back of our tongues, but rarely realize they are there. Now that you are "looking" because of the strep throat you are noticing these taste buds. If they do hurt then have him reevaluated by his doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My throat started hurting today, this evening i looked at it and seen it was red and several red bumps. Should i be checked for strep throat?
If you also have : fever, yes. Although you're just over the age range for Rheumatic Fever as a complication of infection with certain strains of Group A streptococcus, having a positive Rapid-Strep test or throat culture means you need a 10-day course of Penicillin. You would not be contagious to others after 24 hours on antibiotics. If your sore throat is from a viral illness, it will not respond to antibiotics. ...Read more
