Strep v mono: Have you had a swab of your throat for diagnosis? If not, and if you've never had mono before, it could be mono. That would make you fatigued. Depends....: If the bacteria causing the strep throat and bronchitis are sensitive to the azithromycin, then it will treat both. But, because of the bronchiectasis, you may have some lung bacteria that may not be sensitive to azithromycin. So, if the green sputum persists, or if your symptoms worsen, see your doctor again. You may need a sputum culture to find out what bacteria are causing the bronchitis! ...Read more

Probably: you do not have strep because the doctor did not see white pus pockets or redness. Unless a culture was done it still could be strep though there are many fall time virus which cause a pharyngitis and can irritate your throat causing a cough. URI: Likely just an upper respiratory infection. They are usually caused by viral illness. The treatment is rest, NSAID or acetaminophen as needed for sore throat or fever, increase fluids and possibly salt water gargles/ throat lozenges as needed. If no better in 3-5 days, speak to your doc. Strep can be tested for in office with a swab. It usually has fever, stomach pain and headache as part of it. ...Read more
