Single leg hops: Hopping on one leg in a figure 8 is what i learned to have professional athletes do to allow them to return to sport after injury. While brushing your teeth balance on one foot for 1-1/2 min (spit), balance on other foot for 1-1/2 min. When this gets easy, close your eyes. Do these 2x a day. Theraband: If your foot/ ankle is stiff after cast immobilization then rom / strengthening exercises can begin. We generally show our patients how to work on gentle range of motion of their ankle and subtalar joint. We also show them theraband ( rubber band stretch materiel in different resistances)exercises they can do @ home. Also'stork' or balance training can be done.
