Recently diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis & prescribed enbrel (etanercept). How effective, in the long term, are these injections? Any downsides? Thank you!

Is it okay to stop taking enbrel (etanercept)? I haven't injected in about 6 weeks and my psoriatic arthritis symptoms haven't returned. Is remission conceivable?

Combinations inclduing mtx with sulfasalazine, hydroxychlorquine, perhaps doxycycline, or Leflunomide should be tried before starting enbrel, (etanercept) unless you have overwhelming inflammatory disease. Would any rheumatologist ever suggest enbrel (etanercept) to a patient who doesn't have rheumatoid arthritis, anspon, juvenile or psoriatic arthritis? Serious drug
