Stopping Use Of Enbrel Intramuscular Injections Arthritis
Recently diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis & prescribed enbrel. How effective, in the long term, are these injections? Any downsides? Thank you!
Extremely effective: Tnf agents are extremely effective in the treatment of psoriatic arthritis. It is surprising that the side effects were not reviewed with you prior to starting the med. The major risk is infection with other possible side effects being reduced blood counts, liver inflammation, neurologic disorders and a possible increased risk of lymphoma. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Is it okay to stop taking enbrel? I haven't injected in about 6 weeks and my psoriatic arthritis symptoms haven't returned. Is remission conceivable?

Noenthless, Enbrel with mtx is better than either alone! ...Read more

Psoriatic Arthritis: Methotrexate (trexall) is the most common dmard used to treat psoriatic arthritis. However, it has potentially serious side effects, including lung, kidney and liver problems.
