Dr prescribed starding dose 50mcg thyroxine but some confusion I have taken 25mcg over 20day then stop. Can I start thyroxine 50mcg after a week gap.

Contact your MD: Both 25 and 50 mcg doses are relatively small for a 23 year old. There likely would be no problem starting the 50 mcg immediately. However, it is always a good idea to check with the prescribing doctor to verify exactly what they would want you to do. ...Read more

Every day I am somewhat nauseated, can I stop my synthroid (thyroxine) intake. SEe if that causes it?

Discuss with MD: It is unlikely that your nausea is related to Synthroid (thyroxine), (thyroxine) especially if this is a medication that you have taken regularly. Synthroid (thyroxine) is a medication that you should not stop without discussing with your doctor, as stopping it can cause symptoms like fatigue, slow heart rate and mentation, leg swelling, and constipation. Nausea may be caused by other meds, indigestion, gall bladder... See your MD. ...Read more

Can asgwaghanda be taken long term? Me thyroid dr told me 2 stop taking levoxyl (thyroxine) because my body is producing enough. He knows I take this herb

There is no: Scientific information to confirm ANY benefits to taking asgwaghanda. There is no way to confirm that your thyroid levels would be normal without replacement if the lab tests were drawn while you were receiving replacement. The only way to tell for sure is to be totally off replacement for at least six weeks before lab is drawn. ...Read more

I starded to take thyroxine few weeks ago, I m at 50 by day but see no benefit. Tsh was 3.2 before beginning, can I slowly stop thyroxine?

Discuss this with ur: Dr. U usually don't expect any significant body function change with (low) dose thyroid replacement in few weeks. It may take 2-3 months to notice a difference in ur energy/metabolism. If u r expecting ur libido to improve with thyroid hormone therapy, don't count on it. The testosterone meds ur taking should do it. Take care! Http://www. M.Webmd. Com/a-to-z-guides/tc/hypothyroidism-topic-overview. ...Read more

It: It sounds like you have had a very complicated course since your thyroidectomy. You can't be both hypo- and hyper-thyroid, but there could be co-existing conditions. Please notify your doctor and have a complete evaluation of your symptoms. ...Read more
