Stopped Up Right Ear
Hi, the inside of my right ear started hurting all of the sudden and the pain was very sharp but after like 20 sec. It stopped, what caused it?
Otalgia?: Common cause of ear pain in adults is inflammation of the ear canal. Common cause is soap from shampoo, gets in ear canal and dries the area - much like dishpan hands from soap. Prevent this by adding 2 drops of baby oil or olive oil to ear canal before you shampoo.

Many things: Can be many things. Can even be not with the ear (TMJ). See an ENT doc for analysis.
Otolaryngologist: Your wife should see an ear, nose, & throat doctor also known as an otolaryngologist, who will be able to remove the earring piece from her ear.
Complex & typically: Requires several surgeries because of the variables/complexity to achieve something very similar. Best study the issues yourself: getting local tissue to grow/stretch so as to achieve enough surface area, moving suitable appropriate skin/cartilage from adjacent (rarely other) locations of your body, complexity of maintaining working arterial & capillary drainage of moved tissues. Then seek help.See 1 more doctor answer

Not usually,: There may be hearing loss in one ear. Causes vary. The easiest to treat is when the hearing loss is due to wax build-up, which is easily removed by a trained professional who diagnoses it after examination. Don't use Q-tips! Or stick anything else in your ears. "The only thing that should go in your ear is your elbow or a piano." See a doc to find out what's going on.
