More work up needed: Not sure what your work up has been. Not sure if diagnosis is correct. Antibiotics are not the treatment for thrush. Antifungals are the proper treatment. If proper diagnosis, evaluation of the function of your immune system is in order, including HIV testing. Scraping of the lesion in mouth put onto microscope and showing what we call hyphae makes the diagnosis. Easy to do in office. ...Read more

Get consult : Seek a podiatry consult. In your description i don't here anything about drainage. There may be a need to have an I&D of the toe in order for the infection to work it's way out. Iv abx would have a better chance of getting in, but it doesn't do any good to use antibiotics if you don't get debride the infection site. See the podiatrist. ...Read more

Up to 10 hours: The majority of the medication should clear your baby's system after 9 or 10 hours, less than that if some of the dose was vomited. It will be important that your doctor is notified of this reaction so that an alternative medication can be prescribed to complete treatment of the original infection.
