I must: Respectfully disagree that these symptoms are"normal"! You may have something as simple as "internal hemorrhoids) (see diagram) At the very least an procto-scopic examination may be needed!

Anal pain: The symptoms you have suggestive of sphincter spasm or the muscle around the anus is too tight or dysfunctional. It may be causing the issues with leaking and pain. Did the previous docs actually look inside with an instrument called proctoscope? If not I would recommend it. Also need to evaluate if you have constipation. This can lead to issues. Stool leakage and: Anal pain are NOT normal. Internal piles (hemorrhoids) can result from straining due to severe constipation but aren't visible on routine exam. Rectal prolapse could cause your symptoms but should be obvious on physical exam. The constipation itself can cause rectal pain and stool leakage.
