What does it mean when stool in dark brown on the outside and light brown on the inside?

What does it mean when stool in dark brown on the outside and light brown on the inside?

It might..: It might be completely normal depending on what you ate. However, we would need to know what other symptoms you are presenting. If the stool turns black or has blood, mucus on it it would need further evaluation. If otherwise you are healthy I would just make sure that you eat plenty of fiber (fruits and vegetables), low fat diet in order to produce a healthy bowel movement.

Help! My stool is brown with white bits in it. Cheap tp?

Stool w/ white bits: Mucus discharge occurs in up to 50% of patients with irritable bowel syndrome, with or without pain. Mucus may also be produced in response to partial obstruction, chronic constipation, rectal dysfunction, infection, & even from secretory villous tumors of the rectum. At the very least stool studies should help address if mucus white bits you're seeing are "worms" (pinworms, etc.) so rx can begin.

I have a burning sensation while stooling. What could be the problem? How do I get rid of it?

Probable hemorrhoid: Most likely you have hemorrhoids. You first of all have to assure that this is the cause by seeing either your pcp or GI specialist and then if it is one then you have to change your diet, exercise and drink adequate amount of water.

Morning of my colonoscopy. Followed vowel prep the t, yet watery stool is brown. Doc said if it's watery don't worry but I heard it can't be brown?

Morning of my colonoscopy. Followed vowel prep the t, yet watery stool is brown. Doc said if it's watery don't worry but I heard it can't be brown?

It can be brown: A 'perfect' bowel prep for a colonoscopy does result in watery stool which are clear. However, people are different. A prep may not clear all the stool or color. Actual feces may prevent the physician from seeing a polyp covered with stool. However, brown watery stool can be suctioned and the bowel wall properly examined. It will probably be ok. .. The exam is important. Please doo. Peter wilk, md.

What does it mean if my stool has brown patches?

What does it mean if my stool has brown patches?

Probably nothing: The only bad colors for stool are white (bile duct blockage), black (could be old blood) and red (blood). Spots of brown are probably diet related (some food you ate which is not completely digested).

Greenish brown stool with black splotches/dots when wiping for the past week. Stool looks brown when I look at overall colour. Cause+when will it stop?

Greenish brown stool with black splotches/dots when wiping for the past week. Stool looks brown when I look at overall colour. Cause+when will it stop?

~1wk: Green/brown is likely either infection or your normal bacteria being thrown off by antibiotics or something you ate. Black splotches without pain aren't concerning. Blood or worsening black stools is concerning. I'm assuming you have no other symptoms so it will likely take about a week to clear, eat a bland diet.

Hey I just passed out really dark stool in the morning and I just went to the loo again the stool was brown but darker shade my stool is usually light?

See DR: Many possible causes of different stool color. "Really dark" is too vague. Bleeding from stomach or duodenum may produce stool as black as tar with a peculiar odor. A health pro can easily check your stool for blood. Most common reason for different stool colors is different foods.

Stool color: Without symptoms usually reflect food or medication intake. As long as their is no blood in the stool should not be a cause for concern

Could you name a disease for each tipe of stool? - Greenish-brown stools; - Greenish-black and sticky; - Pinkish-red; - Bright green. Thanks a lot!

No.: It doesn't work that way. Stool color is influenced by diet and gut bacteria. The variations in stool color, consistency, and texture are not necessarily associated with any disease. See your doctor if bowel function is consistently abnormal.

Black specks in stool when I wipe but not in actual stool except occasionally. Occasional pain on left side when constipated. Stool normal brown color?

Need more info: It would be important to know your age. Black specks could be blood. Could be from bleeding somewhere in your colon or a hemorrhoid. It is concerning that you have pain & some constipation. Please see your family physician and see if he/she recommends a colonoscopy or some other test depending on your age & physical exam.

Get measurements: Make sure you are not taking iron to compensate for blood loss. We do not lose iron unless we are bleeding. So once we ruled-out blood loss, get your serum iron & ferritin levels measured because too much iron can cause oxidation, liver disease and heart disaese. You don't want to become overloaded with too much iron.
