Don't worry: Floating stools are caused by foods that you eat that cause gas production or could be from malabsorption/ not absorbing essential nutrients causing them to be passed in the stool and making the stool float. Obstruction: You may have had a diagnosis of diverticulitis at 22 but if you have had recurrent attacks, you may now have developped an obstruction from narrowing that occurs with healing.
