Sick Achilles.: Your comments sound like the findings of a previous x-ray exam. I'm not sure what is meant by "bump on the opposite side of the ankle". If it is in the Achilles tendon, then extreme pain, could make sense. It sounds as though there is something amiss with your Achilles tendon. You could have sesamoiditis, a stress fracture, tendonitis etc. Any possibility of a charcot foot must be considered. You make no mention of skin integrity and this must be examined as well. Probably: Plantar fasciitis is typically in the bottom of the heel. Worse in morning and after rest. It can hurt up the leg too from walking differently to compensate. Try ice, Achilles stretches, NSAIDs, orthotics, good shoes. Avoid barefoot and flat shoes without support. See you local podiatrist. It could be this problem or something else.
