Not always: Hi. "Something bad with the pancreas and liver and stomach" is a very broad category. CT and U/S detect many masses, i.e. anatomical abnormalities. Some anatomical abnormalities would NOT be caught, and many metabolic, inflammatory, and infectious abnormalities would be missed. So you probably don't have liver, stomach, or pancreatic cancer, gallstones, or other gross anatomical abnormalities. ...Read more

Many things: These symptoms may indicate a problem with how the stomach empties and can occur for many reasons. Abdominal ultrasound would not even visualize the stomach. Chest ct may image a portion of the stomach, but would easily miss both anatomic and functional stomach pathology. A GI specialist may be able to determine the appropriate workup (e.g., gastric emptying study, barium swallow, manometry). ...Read more
