Maybe: There are many causes of belly pain, some of which are simply annoying, others are deadly. Assuming your doctor did thorough interview & exam, if stomach acid seems to be most likely cause, then high dose omeprazole (Prilosec) can help determine if acid is to blame. Yes: It would be normal to have postoperative pain in these areas, however, if there is a lot of pain, if there is abnormal bleeding, if your bowels aren't functioning properly, if there is abnormal smell then you need to be seen by your doctor immediately. Need information: Would need more information. What does the pain feel like? Any constipation or diarrhea? Nausea or vomiting? Pain or burning with urination?

Soothe her: She must be quite upset at this stage. Vomiting is so unpleasant. A cool facecloth provides wonders. If it persists she may need to get IV fluids. Most of these illnesses, however resolve. Use fluids and keep her rehydrated.

G-E reflux: It sounds like you are already treating your gastroesophageal reflux with antacids- your symptoms are consistent with GERD - worse when lying down, stomach and back pain. I suggest you avoid caffeine, alcohol, chocolate, citrus, peanuts and other acid-producing foods. Omeprazole is a cheap, over the counter, once a day treatment for reflux.
