Stomach Pain Upper Left Quadrant
After eating, stomach pain/burning travels down abdomen esp. left and right sides. Abd. hurts when pressed on.Dr.says too much acid in body. Thoughts?
Maybe: There are many causes of belly pain, some of which are simply annoying, others are deadly. Assuming your doctor did thorough interview & exam, if stomach acid seems to be most likely cause, then high dose omeprazole (Prilosec) can help determine if acid is to blame. Lots of Info: U say Stomach, I assume U mean abdominal. Gall bladder removal does not prevent gallbladder disease, still can have gravel & Pancreatitis (Bloating?). Left Quad pain ? constipation. Diabetes predisposes to Neuro-pathy which can affect everything. incl. GI tract & Muscles. U Need fiber & osmotic bowel supplement at times. Many things: These symptoms may indicate a problem with how the stomach empties and can occur for many reasons. Abdominal ultrasound would not even visualize the stomach. Chest ct may image a portion of the stomach, but would easily miss both anatomic and functional stomach pathology.
