In the meantime, consider simple over-the-counter measures while waiting no more than a few days for your appointment: calcium carbonate eg Tums or Rolaids, magnesium eg Mylanta, bismuth eg Pepto-Bismol, Axid/Pepcid/Zantac, or even Prilosec etc for heartburn.
