Reason 4 gassiness?: Feeling full of "gas" may reflect malabsorption of food (like gluten, lactose), intake of poorly digested food, or choosing foods known to promote gas (beans, fizzy drinks). Sometimes its more complicated--a stomach emptying too slowly, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, delayed intestinal function, partial obstruction from any cause, infection, rectum problems, and pelvic pathology outside the gut. ...Read more

Avoid caffeine, alcohol, nicotine and try prilosec for a few days. See your MD if symptoms persist or worsen or if vomiting, or significant bowel changes or abdominal tenderness occur. ...Read more

And their findings?: The key to your answer is in the definition of "constant" pain ; fainting. If you are awakening from sleep due to pain, your symptoms don't come ; go but are unchanging ; ever present (or are actually worsening), accompanied by fever, bleeding, wt. Loss, then it's unlikely you have a functional process ; further evaluation is warranted rather than just taking symptom-based medicine. Don't give up! ...Read more
