Maybe: There are many causes of belly pain, some of which are simply annoying, others are deadly. Assuming your doctor did thorough interview & exam, if stomach acid seems to be most likely cause, then high dose omeprazole (Prilosec) can help determine if acid is to blame. R/O IBS: IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion. IUC/CROHNS DZ/IBD is inflammation usually DX by BX IBS SX can be managed .You need a full exam and blood work. U need to be checked: You may be right--melenic stool is blood originating from the stomach. Lots of things cause dark-color to stool (see my earlier healthtap answers on the subject), but the possibility that you may be hemorrhaging requires immediate medical attention. Many things.: Stomach pain in general can be due to a variety of different things. If fatigue is associated, and this follows meals, it can be related to bleeding ulcers or even stomach cancer. Extensive bleeding due to either of the above can lead to anemia (low blood count) due to bleeding, which in turn can cause the patient to be fatigued.
