Might not be normal: If you miscarried 3 weeks ago and are having persistent pain in your lower abdomen, I would have it checked out. There are some serious problems that can happen after a miscarriage. They are somewhat rare but you can't assume this is normal. ...Read more

Is it a good sign to have nausea during a threatening miscarriage I was having bad stomach pains and now I am having stomach pains here and there but I still nausea

Is it a good sign to have nausea during a threatening miscarriage I was having bad stomach pains and now I am having stomach pains here and there but I still nausea

Maybe: Nausea during early pregnancy is believed to be due to elevated hormones such as beta-hcg and Progesterone (even though not all women have nausea, but all have elevated levels). Therefore as long as the levels of these hormones are elevated, a patient may experience nausea. After a miscarriage the levels decrease over time, so nausea would not resolve immediately but should also subside over time. ...Read more

I'm having some sharp abdominal pain that comes and goes... I just found out that im pregnant. Are these signs of miscarriage?

Probably not: If you aren't having any bleeding it is unlikely that this is a sign of a miscarriage. Severe pain that lasts is very worrisome and should be evaluated immediately but sharp twinges can just be the stretching uterus. The cause can vary with the different stages of pregnancy. When in doubt, call your OB. Best wishes ...Read more

Anovulatory bleeding: Pregnancy is always on the list of possibilities when a woman has abnormal uterine bleeding or cycles. You may be having anovulatory cycles (cycle without producing an egg from the ovary). If a urine pregnancy test is negative, I would recommend evaluation by your gynecologist, and treatment will depend on the cause of the abnormal bleeding and your current short-term pregnancy goals. ...Read more

Need opinion. Chronic nausea every morning for 2 weeks, lasts until evening, accompanied with some abdominal pain and back ache. Miscarriage 6 wks ago?

Not sure of question: I can't tell whether you are not sure that you had a miscarriage 6 weeks ago or whether you are asking whether or not a miscarriage from 6 weeks ago could STILL be causing these symptoms now. You state that you are NOT pregnant meaning you have taken a recent HPT. Is that right? Under circumstances I believe your best option to ferret things out is to your OB/GYN doctor. ...Read more

6weeks pregnant recently out of the ER because of severe bleeding, clotting, and abdominal pain. Docs said it could be a possible miscarriage. How will I know?

Time: Many women will have spotting, cramping, and bleeding in the first few months of pregnancy. Most of them do not miscarry - if a fetal heart beat has been detected or if the HCG levels have been found to be normal, the only way to know what will happen is to wait and see. There is currently no way to predict or prevent a miscarriage. ...Read more

How nature works: It is highly unlikely for you to get pregnant in the scenario you describe. Your Ovaries have to begin ovulating and such after the miscarriage. Remember no physical symptoms can represent pregnancy in the female until the fetus is about fourteen days old. It is not connected in any physical or chemical way to the mother and her body does not know she is pregnant. Your symptoms R not pregnancy. ...Read more

Defer to Doctor: I find it very difficult to answer questions such as yours. You have not shared with us what your physician who did the test is advising you or reporting to you. We usually like to defer to the team taking care of you in real time. That is a very low HCG level that to me represents not having a viable pregnancy. But I have no other history or physical information to rely upon. ...Read more
