Ectopic & Yes: Any time someone has one sided pain in early pregnancy, they need to be seen to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. An ectopic (tubal) pregnancy can rupture and cause life threatening bleeding. See an OB asap. An HCG titer will be drawn, an exam, & pelvic ultrasound should be done. Probably normal: People often forget to mention just how painful pregnancy can be! Your joints are spreading in the pelvis, ligaments around the uterus are stretching, the organs are getting squished. Aches and pains are pretty much the norm in every pregnancy.
