Water, coffee, tea: BUT not a lot of sense in fasting for cholesterol test. We have always done it that way in medicine and docs and labs are set in their ways. Current literature notes that the only number that varies in non-fasting state is Triglyceride level which may even be misleadingly low when fasting. If you continue to have symptoms of hunger after completing a meal, you may want to drink a glass of water to help feel fuller. A few things: Including gastritis/ulcers (acid produced when food is ingested); a mass close to stomach (vs lower, in colon); gallstones; intermittent/partial or early intestinal obstruction; pancreatitis (inflammation of pancreas, which secretes protein-eating enzymes).
