Went to ER to gsve blood test and catscan. They where looking for kidney stones. Would colon or stomach cancer show up? If it was there would thy see
Not typically: The blood work in your situation could show anemia, which still requires further tests. A large colon mass or stomach mass could be seen on a study for kidney stone, but it is unlikely. Ct scans are good at looking at parts of the body that are more solid and less tube like. Endoscopy is still better for all of these situation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Stomach Cancer? Dull ache below sternum for 3 months, change in bowel habits, loose green stool. blood test come back as fine, been given lanzoporazol
What are the major symptoms of stomach cancer and what are the blood tests required for diagnosis?
Depends: A blood count may show anemia than can in turn be traced to a cancer anywhere in the GI tract. Also, if the cancer is advanced, tumor markers or liver enzyme tests may be abnormal. As a rule, blood tests are not good screening methods for cancer, it's mostly luck if they find cancer early. Good question, by the way. ...Read more

There is a blood test the cea that is high in some cancers, but usually only when quite advanced and not specific to colon cancer. Now, a ct might suggest a colon cancer, however, colonoscopy is considered the gold standard for detecting colon growths. There is research into high definition ct but it is not considered a standard. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I got some white spots on my stomach. This happened after bed tanning.I saw my doctor but she only ran blood test but no results. Can it be skin cancer?
Tanning beds = bad: My first advice for you would be to stop using tanning beds. Using tanning beds before the age of 35 increases your risk of melanoma by 75%. Blood tests are not useful in detecting skin cancers. If the spots remain, the best test is a small skin biopsy. www.roxcancercenter.com. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
