Left lower stomach pain gastric band removal 4 months ago blood test all good but orange mucus in every stool concerned! Could this be cancer?
Psible but stil rare:
Unclear what the orange mucus is. Blood will sometimes appear orange in stool hemorrhoids, not cancer, would be the most comon cause of blood in the stools but this usually is bright red. You should have an md test for blood in the stool. If negative, u can look for other causes (? Diet)
if positive, you will need a colonoscopy to rule out diverticulosis, polyp or less likely a cancer. ...Read more

Please help! What is the difference between gastric bypass surgery, stomach stapling and gastric band surgery?
Bypass and band: Lap band is the safest and is reversible which attracts a lot of patients, but failure rates are high, it is easy to cheat, weight loss is slower. Bypass is the gold standard, been around for 50yrs, results in the greatest weight loss, highest cure rates for diabetes, but has a higher risk. Stomach stapling can mean many different things. You probably mean sleeve gastrectomy, also good, the newest. ...Read more

Yes but. ..: Make sure you discuss that with your surgeon. It helps to have the operative records from previous surgeries as well. It also depends on how long ago that surgery was and if there were any complications. It most likely won't be an issue, but it is something to discuss with your surgeon in advance and to understand any potential risks. Good luck! ...Read more

No good way:
Doctors have tried for years to discover a way to prevent adhesions (scar tissue) in the abdomen because there can be many long term problems from them. There is no magic bullet. The main goal is for the operating surgeon to minimize trauma to the tissues, avoid inflammation, etc. Still, the majority of adhesions will not cause problems.

I had a gastric band fitted over 2 years ago, I am now getting what I think is acid reflux, when I am sleeping and also regular abdominal pain?
If I have an ulcer, will I need lap band revision surgery? I'm nervous about having lap band revision surgery on my stomach. Is this kind of surgery usually successful? Is it any riskier than my original surgery? .
Although the situation you describe is unclear, it seems that you may have had a lap band and now found to have an ulcer near the area of the band and that you have been suggested to have this revised.
If indeed this is the case, you should consider whether you have taken medications that may have increased the risk for stomach ulceration, such as the use of Aspirin or steroids. It that is not the case and the ulcer is near the vicinity of the lap band, then one should consider whether this is a lap band erosion, which can occur if the reservoir is overfilled, incorrectly placed, or other events, such as prolonged vomiting may have preceded this. As this occurs in about 3-5% of cases, it is not common, but the treatment will require removal of the lap band. In this case, another lap band is not usually recommended, but rather consideration to conversion to another bariatric procedure, such as sleeve gastrectomy, after the ulcer is healed. ...Read more
