Sudden sharp stabbing chest pain left side of chest. Comes and goes no other symptoms. Hurts when I press the area of the pain is located ?
Rib cage: A common cause of sharp, fleeting chest pains, especially brought on with a deep breath, is a pinched intercostal nerve or muscle that runs between 2 ribs. The associated tenderness points toward a cause in the rib cage and not the lung or heart. Another possibility is inflammation, injury or other pathology in a rib itself. Your physician should be able to identify the problem after examining you. ...Read more

The muscles in the esophagus sometimes will cramp up on drinking cold water. You should avoid drinking cold liquids.

Chest pain left side. Vitals ok, no symptoms other than aching pain on chest. Comes and goes past few hours. What is it? Musculosketal or cardio?
Mgt: It could be either, but if it is reproduced by pressing on the area of pain, it is more likely to be muscular. If you have no history of illness, including cardiac disease and no family history of cardiac issues, then muscular would be more common in your age group. A heating pad or ibuprofen may help to alleviate the pain. A virtual appt can be made online to follow up. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have chest pain left side below my heart when breathing in and when lifting anything been there for a week now and getting more painfull. Any ideas?
Probably not cardiac: What you are describing is more likely chest wall (musculoskeletal) discomfort than a cardiac cause. This, of course, requires a real evaluation if the symptoms do not improve with conservative therapies, like rest, local heat, mild analgesics, and avoiding any exacerbating activity. If not improved, contact your physician. Btw, be careful to call your symptoms chest "discomfort", not "heart"! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
