I have been taking norethisterone to stop bleeding after my coil fell out. Its been over a week now and I am still bleeding very heavy is this normal?

Did you have protected sex? Did you miss a period. If the answer to both is no, there was no need for hpt. If you did the test correctly more than a week after missed period of the blood test was more than a day after a missed period, all were negative you are unlikely to be pregnant. You may repeat hpt in 3-4 days. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully.
If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD.

If hpt and blood test were negative at more than a week after missed period, you are not likely to be pregnant. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.
