Hot water: Definitely! The Japanese knew about this centuries ago - hence their tradition of onsen. A hot bath or shower will do wonders! Meningitis: Its hard to diagnose this from a distance, but meningitis is typically associated with quite severe neckpain and headaches... Patients typically have sweats and chills, and are really sick. Maybe drink some extra fluids, walk and use some flexibility exercises.
