Stiff Neck Can T Look Up
Fever and stiff neck, difficulty turning my head. Came on pretty suddenly and haven't had this stiffness before. Thoughts?
what are some remedies for stiffness? I currently have a stiff neck, ankle and knee from a combination of working out and looking down at my textbook
Hot water: Definitely! The Japanese knew about this centuries ago - hence their tradition of onsen. A hot bath or shower will do wonders! Of course rest and stretching of tired muscles even with some massage thrown in can do wonders. Best to 'listen' to your body... Pain is the language it uses to tell you 'stop doing' this or that. It helps to pay attention sometimes. Now I recommend taking it easy. ...Read more

Week+ of a stiff neck. Can't look left/right or down. Tried different pillows and sleeping different, no luck. Pain was gone yesterday back today?
It is pesky: Often a stiff neck results from sleeping awkwardly, particularly in a cold or drafty room. It is good news that the pain improved and not surprising that it returned. Continue to sleep in comfortable position, use moist heat and then do gentle range of motion stretching 2-3 times daily. You can take ibuprofen. Avoid further injury. It will be gone, I predict, in another week. Best wishes:) ...Read more

I woke up in the middle of the night in pain, stiff neck, can't move my head much, shoulders and back hurt as well. What do I do?
For the last month, i wake in the morning with a very stiff neck (can't turn to left) and my face and body are extremely swollen. No change in diet.
Hard to say: Your swelling concerns me the most. Whole-body swelling can be caused by heart-failure, liver damage, kidney failure, and certain medications, among other causes. With the combination of neck pain and swelling, nothing specific comes to mind. Please see a provider who will do a good physical exam and ask you more questions to try to figure this out. You deserve an answer! ...Read more
I have aspergers syndrome. I now i got stiff neck, can't feel sleepy, twitching, increased heart pulse, body tempreature can I have sporadic fatal insomni?
Not likely: No connection between asperger's and fatal familial insomnia. Any family history of the latter? Symptoms you describe are not often associated with a sleep disorder except for sleepiness. Actually your "syndrome" sounds closer to encephalitis than asperger's or ffi. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
See a doc: A stiff neck can be many things, I would advise you see your doc just to be sure. Especially if you are having a headache or a fever (>101.3 F), Nausea or Vomitting, or eye pain or ear pain. Heat: Best treatment that i know of for a stiff neck is heat either in the form of hot showers or baths or moist heat pack applied several times per day. Massage can be extremely helpful as well. Neck Pain: Arthritic symptoms typically cause stiffness with inactivity that seems to loosen up as the day gets rolling. Don't waste money, but trying a couple different pillows could help. Neck pain in young: Based upon your age, serious problems are very unlikely without trauma. I would suspect you are feeling muscle aches or pains. Less likely is a disc herniation. Without further studies, only able to guess. Nonetheless, exact diagnosis not necessary to treat. Try some tylenol/nsaid's, ice/heat, salonpas hot patches. Mckenzie pt book available online for $10ish. If pain persists, see a doc. ...Read more
