I'm taking 2 mg of diazepam (3 per day) for a stiff neck. Will caffeine reduce the effect of the relaxant? I have no anxiety, stress, or sleep issues.

Not likely: The sedation effects of diazepam occurs due to effects of this molecule on specific receptors within the brain. Caffeine will likely not affect this to any significant degree. The key is to limit the use of this medication to the least dosage for the shortest period of use. If have been using diazepam for more than a few weeks, then will need to wean off the medication slowly.

Anxiety: Is state of tension, apprehension, worry, uneasiness or fear. It may be related to anticipated danger or arise for no apparent reason. While mild episodes of anxiety are common and do not usually require treatment, more severe forms can be chronic and debilitating. See your PCP for evaluation and referral.
